It started back in 1984, when we distributed Chemicals on behalf of Ashland, Electronic chemical division UK and USA. Ashland closed its UK operation back in 1987, we went ahead a bought the technology from them to build our own manufacturing unit in Sweden. At the same time Ashland got out of the electronic chemical business, sold to Air Products (now Versum Materials), then to KMG where it stands today. We also distribute NaOH, KOH in pellets and make ourselves solutions from these.

Operation in Halmstad (Getinge), Sweden:

We purchase chemicals in bigger quantities, already made to ULSI/VLSI specifications in the majority of cases. These chemicals are refiltered at our plant and packaged in various bottle sizes depending on customer requirement. Mainly, 3 L, 5 L and 25 L. Filling operation is made in class 100 cabinets in a controlled Class 10.000 operation room.

Custom grades for customers:

We also make special blends, dilution of HF as an example, blending Aluminum etchants, etc. We have a strong position in making specialty etchants like NiCr etchants (Ceric ammonium nitrate blends) and Gold etchants (Iodine blends). Solvents like acetone and IPA are a big part of our sales.

We keep about 1 months usage on the yearly sales in back up stock all the time. Some products of smaller quantities are made/brought in on order. Stock etc. depends on arrangement with individual customer requirement.

Sunchem is part of the Sundström group, O.Sundström AB founded in 1918. We are a family company, mainly with sales in the Nordic countries, Baltics and former eastern Europe.

Main operations. Chemical distribution to manufacturing industry, mechanical engineering, Sunchem AB making chemical/technical products for the building industry and electronic Chemicals for the semiconductor industry.
